Membership benefits include the highly regarded quarterly NYCSHS Central Headlight, and discounts on purchases from the NYCSHS Locomotive and Car Drawing and Photograph collections. The Headlight includes the "Tack Board" question and answer column, "From Our Members" letters, "Want Ads." the "For the Modeler" column, and the "Book Review" column along with feature articles and photographs, primarily from the Society's 30,000 images collection of official NYC photographs.
The NYCSHS holds its annual meeting each year in March or April. Click Here for annual meeting info. Besides the meeting and keynote speaker, the event includes an all day New York Central memorabilia show & sale, and generally these events also include special side tours of rail facilities and model train layouts in the area.
